Max Patch Elopement

August 20, 2020

Brook and Adam had the most perfect intimate elopement at Max Patch in Hot Springs North Carolina.

Max Patch is one of my favorite places I’ve ever photographed. The mountain is right on the Tennessee / North Carolina border, near Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and as you’d expect, has awesome views in all directions. It’s also a milestone on the Appalachian Trail, and in the past has been a common camping location. These days, the National Park Service doesn’t allow visitors to stay overnight on Max Patch, but we can still have truly awesome sunrise or sunset elopements at Max Patch!

Part of why I loved Brook & Adams’ Max Patch elopement was the planning done by Asheville Luxury Elopement Co. I love working with them, as they can really help couples planning to elope in Asheville do so in a way that is elegant, beautiful, and stress free. Sometimes couples choose to elope because they think it will be easy (and sometimes it is!), but often planning an elopement can become stressful. That’s where Asheville Luxury Elopement Co. can step in and just help with some of the logistics and vendors. Let me know if you’re planning your own Max Patch elopement and I can put you in touch!

When eloping at Max Patch (or anywhere else in the mountains), we have to be ready to roll with the punches. At Brook & Adam’s elopement, the weather was calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms,  but luckily the weather was absolutely perfect and the rain held until we hiked back down and we in our cars. The dark clouds made for some awesome and epic backdrops, and we had a beautiful time!
